can not build team from Enterprise

Leo

Hi,
today I found new error when I want to Build Team from Enterprise from Ms
Project Pro 2002.
Ms Project Pro could not open enterprise resource, and if I see the progress
bar on the left bottom while the ms project pro "opening resglobal" the
error message appears:

"Microsoft Project has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience."

I already checked the Enterprise Resources from the PWA admin (Admin|Manage
EnterpriseFeatures|Check in enterprise resources), all resources looks
checked-out.
Then I check-in all resources, but when I try to build team from enterprise
from ms project pro 2002 again, the same error still appears.

Is there anyone ever got this error ?

This is symptomatic of data corruption or bad character data having been
imported into the resource table. You can dive into MSP_RESOURCES directly
and look for obvious evidence of bad character data. Often when bad
character data is involved, a record number gets reported in the error
message.

Gary,

I've got so many NULL resource from that table and I already deleted all
records in the MSP_RESOURCES table where resouce name= empty...
but the error still the same.
can you give me more detail instruction / solution for this case ?

one more strange is I can not see the check box for all resources when I
want to edit the Enterprise Resource Pool.
but if I choose to view only, the check box appears.
Thks in advance.....

Perhaps you should revert to your latest backup.

Gary,
the problem was the backup database have the same condition.
Is there any hotfix to solve this bug ?
Only some PM have this error, there is no error for the other PM.
This is very serious problem for my company, because we use this data to
calculate the project bonus.

I don't think this is a bug or the result of a bug, so the notion of hot fix
doesn't apply. If you don't have a good backup to revert to, then you'll
need to attempt to manually correct the database or consider ways of
rebuilding it.
