can not connect to a local machine's page

I just started a new job, and was wanting to make a webpage on my new machine
for project information. I have created a test webpage, I can connect to it,
but its on my machine. When someone else tries to go to the webpage it gives
a 404 error. I have gone to the firewalll and made sure the problem wasn't
there. I even went to the advanced tap and everything was okay there too.
Any suggestions to fix this problem. Since "they" don't wan to get
sharepoint here I need something....

Where is this web on your machine??
Is it server based in IIS or is it disk based in a location on your hard
drive??

If server based in IIS, and the machines are networked, they need to use a
link like this:
http://yourloginname/webfoldername

If disk based and the have access to your machine, they need to browse your
machine from their machine and find the web page and then create a link to
it.

the webpage is located on the hard drive of the machine under the wwwroot
folder. I hope this will help somehow with the problem.

Is IIS installed??
What version of FrontPage??

If a disk based web, is the folder containing the web "Shared"??

i found out the problem. My new job has only static IP address they do not
go through a DNS so the other computer could not see my computer by name only
by static IP.
