Can not install upgrade to Office XP Standard

I recently reformatted our computer and had Office XP on the system. When I
try to reinstall (it is an upgrade) I get a message saying I don't have any
qualifying product on my machine. I have Microsoft Works and Office 97 SBE
loaded. Anyone have any suggestions, advice? Please e-mail at

No emails as there is no "private help," it is help for all here. When it
comes up with the message there is not qualifying product, have you
attempted to put the Office 97 CD in the drive and let it access the drive
to qualify? Does this work or do you still have issues?

Sometimes there is a bit of difficulty in the installation program finding
the qualifying program on the hard drive.
