Can not make pdf or a usable ps. file

Publisher 2003/ Windows XP

When I save the file as a postscript file it seems to save correctly and I
do get the ps icon on my desktop. I then however can not open the ps. file in
Illustrator CS or make a PDF using Acrobat Distiller 6.

I have followed the instructions to the letter in tweaking the Adobe Acrobat
6 print properties according to the Publisher 2003 Prepress Reference Guide.

Using Acrobat 6 Distiller I get the following error:
Quality.joboptions
%%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
%%[ Error: stackunderflow; OffendingCommand: exch ]%%
Stack:
0.

JAWS PDf is a simple one step setup but I get the same error as above.

Please let me know if someone has an explanation for this error.

I am using Windows XP / new computer.
I have uninstalled and re-installed Publisher and Acrobat 6 twice but get
the same result.

I have a similar problem: I try to save the pages as EPS files (using the
instructions re: generic printer driver in the help file), and I only get a
partial save, no formatting, and Photoshop cannot read the font, therefore I
can't open a file to edit or convert it to a .pdf file from PhotoShop. GIMP
and Ghostview also only get partial files. I have the same problem if I try
to save the project as a .ps file.

I am using XP, PSCS, GIMP8.5 and Publisher 2003. Is the generic ps driver
broken?

with it.

Send them a .pdf. Any time you turn one format into a second and then into a
third, you're asking for problems. Try the .pdf and see if you get the
results you need.

PrimoPDF is a great tool, especially for a free program. That rarely ever
happens. Wait until you discover SnagIt. A wonderful $40 program that
everyone should have.

I would just send the file as a PDF as your commercial printer would prefer
to make his own EPS files. I would also ask your printer what setting he
wants you to use when making your PDFs. I have no idea about PrimoPDF, but
Adobe Distiller, gives you options on fonts, color, page sizes, bleed etc.
