Can not modify Excel on Server share ONLY LOCAL

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Help, When I create a file using excel on my desktop(local) and save it to desktop, its fine I can modify it and change it. But when I put it on my server on a share directory I can not modify it. It gives me a error. I drag it back to desktop and it WORKS! Problem lies only while its on the server.
NOTES: the file has full read and wright rights.
       Its only with ANY excel. Word and Powerpoint Work fine.

Any ideas please
