Can NOT open power point 2000 files in powerpoint 2003 application

I have powerpoint 2003 now.... I can not open any of my powerpoint 2000
files... Everytime, when I try to open an old file, the error message
"PowerPoint can't read c:\......ppt" Are there any ways to fix this
problem?

Help|Check for Updates. Install the latest SP for Office 2003.

Have you installed the service packs to Windows and Office 2003? If not
that is the first step. (PPT 2003 was broken out of the box and MUST have
the updates installed.)
