I also get this message now. I had changed a bunch of settings for services
- not sure what these are, but anything that dealt with other computers I
changed from Automatic to Manual. (I don't see why these should be running
on a laptop that never deals with other computers except on WWW.)
I also changed how long the startup options are displayed etc, possibly in
the same set of settings.
The message says something like "could not register this document. Links
cannot be created from other docs to this doc." Well I really don't want any
links!!
Haven't tried to use any other Office applications. Word does work fine
after hitting "OK."
