Can not use Word, Excel or Powerpoint 2003

When I open a file the "save as" dialog box comes up and it will not go away.
I save or cancel and it just pops back up instantly. It will save and ask to
overwrite files, but thats all I can do , to exit I have to Cntrl-alt-delete
my way out of the program.
I'm running office 2003 on XP SP2 , I've tried restoring and reinstalling
and searching various forums with no luck, any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Using your computer, visit http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/
and click on "Validate Office" to check if you have a genuine version
of Microsoft Office 2003.

Thank you for your replay, validated fine, I also reinstalled updates that I
lost with the reinstall, but problem is still the same. I can not find a
problem like it documented anywhere, quite frustrating.........

I booted up in SAFE MODE and my Office programs behaved properly, I lost
patience looking for the cause and just did a repair install using XP setup .
Problem was not with office after all.
