Can Office 2000 and Office 2003 co-exist and how do I remove 2000

When I use the Office Updates prog on the Microsoft Site to update Office
2003 I always get updates for Word/Excel.... 2000 in addition to the 2003
ones.
Did the 2003 installation NOT overwrite the 2000 Office?

Overwrite, it depends which option you selected during 2003 installation.
What is listed in Add/Remove dialogue?

Add/Remove shows ONLY 'Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003'

Run a search for excel.exe and/or winword.exe see what is listed & location
2003 apps are in Office11 folder
2000 apps in Office folder
