Already own Office 2000 that was running on Windows 98 and want to install on
new HP unit running Windows XP. During the install I received a .DLL error
message and the file would not load. Is this application not compatible with
XP?

The error message appears in the Installer Information dialog box:
"Error 1305. Error reading file: E:\System\EXSEC32.DLL. Verify that the
file exists and that you can access it." I ran a search and see the file
does exist within the application.

This could be caused by your CD-ROM. Here's a KB article that contains
some suggestions for resolving this error:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=321339

And occasionally a 1305 installation error indicates the CD is dirty
or scratched so you may want to check that out as well.
