Can oneTrap the Alt and Ctrl keys?

Pawpaw

My granddaughter likes to play letters. Which is random typing in a Word doc.
She has her on template for type font.

The problem is that she randomly presses the Alt or Ctrl keys with other
keys with takes the attention out of Word typing. The ESC key often brings
the attention back but no always.

Is there a way to disable, trap, redirect these special keys during her use
of Word?

Help please,

Pawpaw

The normal answer is No.

There is, however, a Yes answer. But it's not trivial at all. It
involves sub classing and hooking which means that one has to intercept
the messages before it gets to Word and it's very, very involved.

Buy the lady a typewriter. Trust me. It's easier.

Or wedge something under the keys. Or, go to
http://www.freewareweb.com/cgi-bin/archive.cgi?ID=1698 and use the freeware
keyboard remapping utility to remap the Alt and the Ctrl keys to something
innocuous.
