Can Outlook notify me of new messages while offline?

Is there a way to have Outlook send me an offline notification of a new
message from a particular sender?

For example... I'm out of the office and my boss emails me. Oulook sends a
prearranged message to my cell phone. I then log on through web mail to read
and reply.

If this is not possible how can I get my idea to MS product developement?

Are you working with a Microsoft Exchange account or POP/IMAP? The reason
that I ask is that for a Microsoft Exchange account, you could try using the
Out of Office Assistant or the Rules Wizard to send a message to your phone
when you get a message from the boss.

If your cell phone service accepts e-mails, why not define a rule in
Outlook to forward a copy of incoming e-mails to that other e-mail
address for the cell phone? If your cell phone cannot accept the entire
message (rather than getting a notify where you could then pull it to
the cell phone), you could define a rule to run a script but then you
need to know VBA to write the script.
