Can reinitiate office 2003

I tried the trial version of 2007 and didn't want to buy it so I uninstalled
it when the trial ran out. Now my 2003 version won't initialize and has to
reconfigure every time I click on links in outlook. How can I get it to stay
configured? Also when I tried to use the 2003 Application Recovery, I got a
fatal error.
