can send, cannot reply to same address, displayname problem

Using MS-Outlook 2003, if I send to an address like
(e-mail address removed)
it sends OK.

If I reply to mail from
(e-mail address removed)
the relay complains

I tried a my own qmail server -- not my ISPs -- and get the same problem.

Its like is Outlook is using the DisplayName as a recipient name.
I would have expected '"(e-mail address removed)" domain not found'
not 'Maraudius Kachingo domain not found'

Now I cannot reply to mail and am inconveniently re-mailing.
Anyone know what this is?
