Can task updates be sent to more than one manager?

We have a manager here that would like to receive updates for their
resources from projects they do not own. To my knowledge the owner of a
project is the only one that receives updates from resource, is this
correct? Or, could the resource manager and PM both get updates?
We're using Project Server '02 for what it's worth.

The short and simple answer is no.

Only one person can receive an update on a task, but you can have one person
receiving updates on certain tasks and have another person receive updates on
different tasks, they just can't both receive an update on the same tasdk
