While I particpate in off topic conversations here, some of the more recent
(mile long) threads could be taken offline. We don't need this to turn into
a "coffeehouse". And I would also like to mention that the snide remarks
should try to be prevented as well (ahem...that includes witches
).
FWIW, Microsoft is aware that newsgroup postings are coming in with subject
lines filled out only. Since they are aware of the problem and they are
working on the problem as we speak, I guess we should do what we can to
educate them while trying to answer there post at the same time. At least
until Microsoft addresses the issue (i think they are going to make the body
of the message a required field before posting as well as a better
explanation).We could probably come up with a smalled canned sentence that
explains to them how to use the web based news properly and having that
inserted after your helpful reply (that is, if the subject line is detailed
enough).
And instead of telling new and lazy users to RTFM or *read the f&*king
manual*, we could just mention to them to have a look in their help for
Publisher.
