Can we have 2 types of rate fields

S

One for Budgeted rate and another for actuals.
I would prefer to use the budgeted rate for calculating the estimate to
complete and also compare this with the actual rate.

Subhakar,

what exactly do you want to achieve, if you say 2 types of rates fields. A
resource can have up to 5 different cost rate tables. Are you refering to
thouse?
If you can clarify, I may be able to help you
thanks

Thnx Marc for your time.
We work in a cost center type of company. So for every project we have a
budgeted labor rate which is used to calculate the estimate to complete
through out the life cycle of the project. And then we have the actuals every
month ( which is variable on the actual cost of labor). We keep adjusting
this every quarter.
We compare both man hours and cost every month ( Budgeted vs actuals).
Is there any possibility to have the a budgeted rate and also have the
actual rate fiels in EPM 2007.

Hi Subhakar,

generally the answer is no ( sorry ). A resource cost is associated to a
resource and you cant amend the resource cost per project, that is generally
ok, but the big gap I see is that you dont have the abillity to have a
resource fields per project allowing you to assign something like "rate".
Lets hope MS will close the gap in the next release.
I hope this helps.
