Can WSSWIZ.exe component be added post Project 2003 installation?

Hi, new to Project 2003, WSS etc so be kind!

Have inherited management of Project 2003/WSS/Project Access system, and
find that we are unable to use Risk/Issue/Document association with projects
as WSS does no create a project site. Know the cause of this is that during
original Project 2003 installation the WSSWIZ.exe component was NOT run.

Now my IT Manager is concerned that Project data may be lost if WSSWIZ.exe
is installed over the existing set-up (understand that this component is
supposed to be added exclusively during Project 2003 installation).

Looking for confirmation/advise regarding risk here. Really want to be able
to use Documents feature etc.
