can you add a new field to outlooks contact page

I need to add a costum field to the main contact address book page in
outlook2007 can anyone tell me how and even if i can do somthing like this,
all i need is a new field called event date

No, the address book display cannot be customzied like that.

You can, however, add a new field to any individual contact on its All
Fields page. Or you can create a custom contact form and apply it to all
contacts.
