Can you add hours of service like 10:05 + 9:55= 20:00 hours

Im using excel 2003 and would like to know if there is a way to add up
hours. I have created a report for the water plant I work at. It totals all
chemicals used and gallons pumped, but I cant get it to add up the hours the
water plant runs each day. Like 10 hours 55 minutes plus 9 hours 5 minutes
should come up to 20 hours but it wont do that, it comes up with all kinds of
answers, none of which are right. Is there a way to do this on excel? I would
appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

Hi!

Enter your time formatted as h:mm.

A1 = 10:05 formatted as h:mm
A2 = 9:55 formatted as h:mm

A3 = A1+A2 formatted as [h]:mm

The [] keep the total hours from rolling over into days.

Without the []'s 24:00 hrs would return 1 (days)
