Can you attach a note to a calendar entry in MS Outlook?

Te Mapihi

I want to write notes in my calendar as I would if it was my hard copy diary.
It seems the notes don't attach or can't be inserted.
If you know how to do it, could you send me some instructions.
If there is an alternative method instead then showing me that would be
useful.
It seems to me, this is why you would create notes which, lets face it, look
like post it notes...
Thanks in advance.

It is probably not quite what you want buy maybe you'll like this method.

You can use Insert Item to insert a Note in an Appointment. Open a meeting
and click Insert Item, find the note and click it.

Outlook does not support putting 'post it notes' on the calendar. You can
either create journal entries or calendar entries and add notes to the
notes field.
