Can you consolidate 2 schedules in MSProject w/out embedding them

Hi Susie,

Sure. In the Insert Project dialog box, uncheck "Link to project" then
insert.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

If you insert a project you can not make logic ties between them. You can
also copy and paste from project to project. This allows you to make logic
ties.

Hi Catfish,

I'm afraid I don't follow. What do you mean by "logic ties"? You can link
tasks (predecessor/successor) from one task in one project to another task
in another project using the Insert > Project command. You are correct if
the user unchecks "Link to project" then creating any links (dependencies)
between tasks they won't be reflected in the original project files, but
Susie specifically asked about consolidating without embedding.

Hi,

If "consolidate" means "showing total resource load" the answer is yes,
conect both files to a resource pool and bingo.

I read her questions as can I insert a project into another? If this is the
question my answer stands. Susie didn't give much to go on.
Logic ties are called links & dependices in MS Projects. Most schedulers
call them ligic ties.
