Can you create a protected form in part of a document?

I have a large document which I want people to edit. But I'd like to create
a protected form on *part* of the document (the front page). Is this
possible?

Yes. Insert section breaks before and after the part you want to protect,
and protect only that section.

You can't access the Bullets and Numbering dialog, I know. I believe you
can't modify any styles. A lot of little things.
