Can you filter unassigned projects?

Is there a way to filter unassigned projects? I've been clicking around on MS
Pro but still have not found anything yet.

Sorry if this is so obvious and I don't know how to do it.

Thanks

I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you working with a project
portfolio?

Thanks for the reply.

No I'm not using Portfolio. Just the normal filtering on MS Pro
(Project>Filter>Customise filter).

Then what do you mean by "unassigned projects"? Do you assign Project
Managers to the projects? If so, how do you do that? You could filter
on that field in a Master Project list. The filters you mentioned are
for filtering tasks or resources, not usually projects themselves.

Oh right I see. Yes I have a master project and the unassigned projects will
be assigned to Resources in the future (not project managers).

But anyways thanks for the help!

So there are no project leads/managers, just resources? Are the
resources assigned to tasks, or to the Project Summary task? Or both? I
need to know more about how you're deciding that projects are
"unassigned" and which ones are not, before I can suggest a solution.

There are no project managers. Just Enterprise resources from the Project
Server. The resources are assigned to tasks and not to the summary task. I
decide that some projects are unassigned by:
Everytime there is a new project I add this into my Master project so I know
there is still a project that will need to be completed in the future. I dont
assign that task to anyone yet but I will soon. Therefore they are unassigned
projects. Also some tasks don't need to be assigned to such as milestones

OK, you need to post this message on the Project Server NG.

Are you calling each individual task a "project?" Or perhaps by "project"
you mean what is officially called a summary task. Projects consist of a
number of tasks and aren't assigned to resources but the individual tasks
that make them up are. The general nomenclature, just so we're all on the
same plate, is that a project is a top level thing, like "Build New
Factory." That Project has a number of summary tasks in it breaking it down
into phases - "Acquire REal Estate" "Lay Foundation" "Erect Frameing" ...
etc Those summaries in turn consist of activities done by people - "Dig
Hole" "Erect Forms" "Pour Concrete" etc etc. and there may be any number of
levels of summarie and their component tasks. So when you use the term
"unassigned projects" just what level are you referring to?
