I suspect your instructor's goal is NOT to read a report on Dr King. The
point is that in the process of reading about him and writing the report
YOU will get experience reading and writing English. If someone else
researches and/or writes the report you will not benefit from those
experiences.

A book report presupposes that you have read a book, so that should be your
first step.
