Can you orientate the slides into portrait mode?

I want to design a poster, and this is the best program I have (I don't have
publisher). Can you suggest any other programs that may have come free with
my PC? Thanks

You can change the orientation of your slides by clicking "File", "Page
setup" and clicking the "Portrait" option under "Slides", "Orientation".

How about how to have both portrait and landscape slide in a self running
presentation.
I found how to do it by clicking on an object, but I want no user
interaction.

Thanks
