Can you PLEASE tell me how to get this effect on powerpoint? thank

I'm trying to get this silver band effect on powerpoint on a slide, but I
just can't figure out how to achieve it. If you click on this link and go to
slide 43, you can visually see what I mean. It's a silver band (?) thing on
the picture.

Off the top of my head, I'd guess it's a grey and white gradient with
transparency applied. Here's information on how to create gradients in PPT
2007. http://www.echosvoice.com/gradients.htm It's actually easier in 2003.
