Cannont Insert duplicate key row in object 'MSP_TASKS'

Troy

I just made a bunch of changes to one of my projects and when I tried to
publish or save it I receive the following error

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot insert duplicate key
row in object 'MSP_TASKS' with unique index 'I_MSP_TASKS'.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I had same error this morning on one project. Others seem ok. I closed the
on with the error now when I open it I can not see any of the task -
application acts like they are there as reports work but just can not see the
task. Sure hope you get a reply soon to this error. I am still debugging ways
to fix problem - no luck so far.

Any chance you used cut and paste of entire rows to add or move tasks?

Troy:

Although it's a benign habit with the standalone tool, it's a good way to
create corruption in plans saved to Project Server. Saving the project as an
mpp, then deleting the production project, and importing the project back to
Project Server from the mpp should fix your problem. You'll need to
republish everything selecting to overwrite actual work in the timesheets.
