Cannot access deleted folder

I recently received a couple of very large emails which I deleted. But when
I tried to access my deleted folder to permanently delete them, I was given
this message. "Unable to display the folder. The file C:\Documents and
Settings\leinar\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
could not be accessed. The handle is invalid." I tried following that path,
but it doesn't exist beyond the leinar folder. Any help is appreciated.

Make sure that you've got the option to view hidden folders turned on since
Local Settings is a hidden folder.

can you right click and choose empty or does that error too?
