Cannot access Microsoft Office Suite

I have been unable to use my Microsoft Office Suite for quite a while. When
I double click on Word or Excel, etc. it just freezes. I have tried some
Microsoft downloads, Norton Antivirus, Spysweeper to no avail. Does anyone
know what may be causing this issue?
