Cannot access public documents

I have a user that can no longer access Public Documents. He has the same
permissions as others that can access these documents but he is prompted for
credentials whenever he tries to go into the public documents folder which
usually indicates he DOES NOT have the proper permissions. Does anyone have
any suggestions on hos to correct this? Thanks

Make the option under "Site provisioning settings" under Admin>Manage WSS is
set to "Automatically add a new Project Web Access user into a cross-site
group called Project Manager (Project Server) on the Public Documents site
(Users in this role can create new document libraries, upload new documents
to the libraries, edit documents, and delete documents)

If it is then try re-synchronizing permissions under "Manage SharePoint
sites"

Validate the user is added to the site by going to the public documents site
under Site Settings>Manage Users

Thanks for the information. I discovered the public documents sharepoint
site settings after I posted this and he was not a user in that group. I
added him and now he can view them.

It would be interesting to figure out why he was not part of the group in
the first place. Adding him directly will not prevent further issues down
the road if for example the option is not set to "Automatically add a new
Project Web Access user into a cross-site group called Project Manager
(Project Server) on the Public Documents site"

Then again, it could be a one off issue in which case, adding him directly
would be sufficient.

Thanks, Jonathan
