Cannot add attachment

Our department is testing Office 2007. I just tried to create a new database
table in 2007 and tried to add an attachment field which is interestingly not
in the list but if I type "attachment", then I get a message simply stating
that "the data type for field 'Scripts' is of type Attachment and cannot be
changed". This should be fine so I clicked OK and then got the message
"Operation is not supported for this type of object". What is causing this?

I assume you mean the help question mark in the upper right. Yes, I used the
help and did exactly as it suggested except that the "attachment" is not a
listed filetype. When I type it in, it does as described below. How do I
gain this functionality?

You misunderstood. I meant to use the jelp to learn about hyperlink field
type to use for your attachments.
