cannot backup existing BCM database in the Startup Wizard.

I had a BCM database that I was using. Recently, I installed an update to
the Business Contact Manager(with BCMV2UPD.exe). The installation worked
successfully. Then after rebooting the computer, I got the Startup Wizard.
Here at the start-up wizard, I selected the existing database. It thn
proceedd to backup the database and the backup failed without giving any more
details. The install procedure has stopped at that. How do I proceed with
the Start-up. I can see the .ldf and .mdf files of the existing database.
I can successfully create another database, but I need to use the existing
one.
