Hello,
I have the aforesaid problem with the Word 2000, running on
my newly-installed Windows XP. I read the help file at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q249859,
reinstalled Office 2000, then installed SR-1a as well as
all other important updates, renamed the old Normal.dot
file, but the error still persists. I have 4 or 5 GBytes of
free memory on my disc and 512 MB of RAM, so memory should
not be a problem. After the SR-1a update, the file with
file permission error not longer disappears from the disc
when I save it under a different name, but that does not
make the error less bothersome. I am a free-lance
translator and having to work overnight after loosing the
file due to this error a couple of days ago was quite
frustrating, so I appreciate any help.
