This can be caused by several problems.
1) If the Web Server and the SQL server are on different
boxes Analysis Services needs to be installed on the box
with the Web Server.
2) The Analysis Services (OLAP) Access Identity for the
web server to connect to the OLAP cube are not set. You
must run PSCOMPlus and enter the Username and Password to
connect to the OLAP cube. Drive Letter:\Program
Files\Microsoft Project Server\Bin\1033\ PSCOMPlus
OLAP cube. The name of my analysis server was already in
the 'Server Name' field. So I went down and clicked on
the 'Update Now' button and it said 'Could not connect to
the OLAP Server'.

I went into the Enterprise options, and then to
OLAP cube. The name of my analysis server was already in
