Cannot connect to Sharepoint server from Web Access

J

John Stone

When I try to modify the SharePoint Team Services server
from the Connect to Servers page (under Admin | Manage
Sharepoint Team Services), I get the following error
message:

Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 8000401a'

Server.CreateObject Failed

/projectserver/Admin/StsAdMod.asp, line 90

The server process could not be started because the
configured identity is incorrect. Check the username and
password.

Sharepoint Team Services seemed to install without a
hitch and the public documents subweb was created
correctly. I can also access the STS web site without a
problem. This may be connected to another problem I'm
having - when I import a project to Project Server, a
subweb is not created under STS.

Any suggestions?

John:

Did you run the Com+ utility? If so, did you create application accounts
with the proper rights in the SharePoint database to use for his purpose?
This is the source of the identity issue. Next, make sure that you've run
the proxycfg.exe utility as well.
