Cannot Cut, Copy, Paste from another program!

Word 2002, XP Home Ed. When I copy text from the web or e-
mail, cannot Paste it into Word document--Cut, Copy, Paste
on toolbar are dimmed! What's the deal?

Is Word 2002 part of the Works Suite? Then go to the Control Panel,
Add/Remove Programs and Uninstall the Works Suite Add-in.
