Cannot delete a calendar 2007

I tried to delete an Enterprise calendar and get a message that it is in use
by the following projects...change the calendar on the project and try again"
When I open the project, it is only using the Standard Calendar (Project /
Project Information / Calendar). Why is the calendar in question linked to
the project? How do I delete it?

Is there a possibility that the enterprise Calendar in question is applied
as a Task Calendar in the enterprise project? To determine this, do the
following:

1. Open the project in question.
2. Apply the Gantt Chart view.
3. Right-click on the Duration column header and select the Insert Column
item on the shortcut menu.
4. Click the Field Name pick list and select the Task Calendar item.
5. Click the OK button.
6. Scroll down through the project looking for any task in which the Task
Calendar column is not None.
7. If you see any tasks with a Task Calendar, set the value back to None.
8. Save, publish, and close the project.

Let us know if this helps.

I appreciate the quick response. I confirmed that the Task Calendar field is
set to "none" for all tasks. Any other ideas?

Another thought: Is there a local resource (not in the Enterprise Resource
Pool) in the project team (View - Resource Sheet), and the Base Calendar
value for this local resource is set to the custom Calendar? If so, change
it to the Standard calendar or some other enterprise Calendar.

Still another thought: Apply the Gantt Chart view and then double-click
anywhere in one of the gray shaded bands (non-working time) in the Gantt
Chart itself. In the Timescale dialog, is the Calendar value set to the
custom Calendar, by chance? If so, change it to the Standard calendar or
some other enterprise Calendar.

Beyond these two ideas, I'm stumped. If neither of the above work, then I
have no idea what is causing the problem. Given the amount of bugs in
Project Server 2007 right now, we can always claim the problem is due to a
bug, can't we? :)

Hope this helps.

That was a good thought, but everything is set to Standard. I figured it was
a bug. I wonder if it has anything to do with the cache. I will try
deleting the mcp files from the cache and see if that helps. That solved a
lot of other project related problems in the past. I would delete the
projects (yes the server thinks multiple projects are using the same calendar
- I actually am trying to delete 3 calendars that are not used. The message
I get on all three calendars has some of the same projects listed.) if I
could. I appreciate the help.

Yes, deleting the projects from the Local Cache might also help. Sorry I
could not be of more help.
