cannot delete or rename folders in outlook 2007

Shaqtopz

When I try to delete or rename, it says I need to change permissions.
When I right click on the folder the permissions box is not available to edit.
How do I enable editing permissions.

Hi,

It seems your Outlook is configured to work with Exchange Server and you are
not the owner of these folders. The administrator can change you access
permissions.

Do not use Exchange Server and I am the Admin.
Somehow I or the system change a setting somewhere to not allow me to change
the permissions.
Suggestions?

So, you are working with a regular PST file, aren't you?

What's the Outlook version?

When you write that the permissions box is not available to edit, do you
mean that it's grayed (disabled) or you just can't see it?

What's the size of your PST file?

Can you create any new items in the PST?

Yes, regular PST.
Outlook 2007.
It's grayed.
Size is 1.4G.
I sync with my laptop and home desktop and they both work fine.
I can create folders, but just can not rename or delete.
No problem with emails - can create, delete, etc.

Thanks,
Mark

If not using Exchange Server, there should be no Permissions box in the folder properties. Are you using
3rd party software to sync your computers (or Outlook applications)? If so, the problem might be related to
that software.

One computer has exchange.
How do I remove the Exchange plugin or delete Exchange?
Do not use it.
Everything was working fine until my computer did a Windows upgrade last
week. Could the settings have changed during the upgrade?
Thanks,
Mark

I do not quite get it. If you are not using Exchange, then how do you sync
your Outlook between computers?
