Cannot Delete Posts in Public Folder Internet Newsgroups

Exchange Server 2003. Outlook 2003.

Once an item is posted to the Internet Newsgroups (under the Public
Folders), I
have found that I cannot delete the post, whether I am the original poster
or the
system administrator. I tried to modify the properties of the folder and
find that I cannot modify the permissions. They are set to "Custom" with
only "create' and "read." Everything is grayed out, so I cannot change the
settings.

How can I fix this so that at least the administrator can delete posted
items from the Internet Newsgroups folder? Thanks for the help.

have you logged in to the exchange server as the exchange admin and tried to
change permissions?

I tried to access the properties of this folder from the Exchange System
Manager, but got a HTTP error 501 (Not assigned). When I stopped the
"Default Web Site" in IIS Administrator, then I was able to edit the
properties of the folder and change them to what I wanted. Since we are not
using the "default web site" I hope this does not cause other problems?

I was pointed to this area by another post. Thanks.
