cannot display PWA webpage - PS07

Beth

I've run into a problem accessing my PWA webpage. I've been using it for
over a year without issue until today. I'm using an all-in-one system: SQL
2005, Sharepoint 3.0, and PS2007. I can access the Sharepoint Central
Administration page, but when I attempt to access the PWA website, I get the
standard internet error message "Internet Explorer cannot display the
webpage". The first time I try to access the PWA website after reboot, it
prompts me for my password (which it should not as I was previously set up
with Windows Authentication). I type in my Windows password and then I get
the error message. Every attempt to access it after that goes directly to
the error message.

I created a new PWA website via Central Administration/Shared Services which
shows as Provisioned successfully. When I attempt to access this website, I
also get the internet error message.

Recent things that have happened on my system: I inadvertently landed on a
website that has inundated me with pop-ups and bogus messages for anti-virus
scans/downloads. As a result, I went into Internet Options on Internet
Explorer and deleted all the Browsing History stored data. I don't know if
this is contributing to the problem, although I can't quite see why it would.

I've tried some basic things like restarting IIS to no avail.

Any thoughts anyone can share on this is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Beth

Hi Marc:

I'm getting errors in the Application and System Events Logs. Here they are:

Warning: Windows cannot unload your classes registry file – it is still in
use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded when it is
no longer in use.

System Event Log:

Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{###...} to the user NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE SID [S-1-5-20]. This
security permission can be modified using the Component Services

Any input is much appreciated-

Hi Beth,

it seems that your SharePoint Config database cannot be found. There is
something more going on in your instance. I would check with your Admin to
see if there are any changes occured during the time that you received the
error message. I am sorry that I am not able to help you further :( but I
would need to see your environment.
thanks
