Cannot Edit Calendar in Outlook 2003

(Note: I posted this originally in general questions; I just realized that
was probably not the best way to go...if posting here is wrong, please accept
apologies).

I am using Outlook 2003 (XP Media Center) with SP2. I can create everything
else (new mail, journal entries, notes, contacts), but I cannot edit the
calendar. This is just my calendar. No other users. Anyone have any ideas
either why this could be happening or how I would diagnose the problem?

Note: This is a fairly new install (2 months old) on a new machine; no
problems with anything else.

I imported my pst file from an older computer on my network. Since the
import, no problems, but I've never added anything to the calendar until
today when I found I couldn't.

If I try to create a new calendar entry, nothing happens. No error, nothing.
If I try to edit an existing entry, I get a msg box saying "Could not save
item."

(Someone on the general thread suggested I try a new profile. Why would that
help? )

Well...Outlook abended and when it restarted, everything is OK.
