I have a user (Al) who has full access to another user's mailbox (Ben). Al
has Ben's mailbox displayed in his Folder List. On either Outlook 2000 or
2003, Al cannot edit the values in custom fields in Ben's TaskPad. However,
Al can edit the content of these same fields in Ben's Tasks folder. Al can
always edit the contents of NON-custom fields in Ben's TaskPad just fine.
Al used to be able to edit all fields -- custom and standard -- in Ben's
TaskPad on Al's calendar. I have tried this on multiple machines running
Outlook 2000 or 2003, and it is consistent. Al is a member of a group that
has full access to Ben's mailbox; the other user in the group still can edit
the custom fields in Ben's TaskPad.
The backend is Exchange 2003. Here's what I've tried:
.. Confirmed that "Allow in-cell editing" is checked in the TaskPad "Other
Settings" dialog box.
.. Confirmed that Outlook 2000 and 2003 are fully patched. (The OS is also
fully patched).
.. Microsoft KB 290001 ("You Cannot Edit a Task in TaskPad in the Calendar
View") describes a similar problem, but only applies to Outlook 2002, which
I am not using.
I'm thinking maybe it's some permissions issue or a bug? Any thoughts?
TIA,
