cannot empty the clipboard

I used to get this error message intermittently, and now
each time I cut, copy, or paste this error pops up. It is
ignorable and I can do the task I wanted but it is very
annoying. Nothing is on my Office clipboard. Can someone
please how I can go behind the scenes to clear my Office
clipboard? Thank you!
