cannot find scanpst.exe in 1033 folder or on Office CD.

I tried to open Outlook and got a message saying I should use the Inbox
repair tool. This tool, called scanpst.exe, is supposed to be installed when
Outlook is installed (according to the help section on this site) but it's
not where it's supposed to be -- in the 1033 folder in programs -- so I
looked on the Office 2007 CD and can't find it there, either. I'd be grateful
for any guidance.

See if it's in its usual default directory: C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office12

I found a SCANPST application in the Office12 folder -- thank you ! -- but
when I click on it, it asks me which file I want to scan. I have no idea.

OK, I found it, and it's fixed. One of the problems is that it's very
difficult to find things like the AppData folder in Windows Vista. Thank you,
Vince.

You can easily find the path to your PST file in the Control Panel's
Mail applet.
