In Windows Firewall did you add FP as an Exception and the option for Windows to let you know when it firewalls a program?
- I'm running SP2 on several machines and have had no FP problems
| I access it as I always have for years (pre XP SP2). Open an existing domain
| listed in "My Network Places". The problem has now occured under three
| installations after having applied SP2, so no more SP2 untill I know what's
| going on. Every time I reinstall XP without SP2, it works OK. Fortunately I
| have a laptop that runs without XP2.
|
| If I go directly to the page, I can open it for editing, but cannot save to
| teh site as I get the same problem.
|
| The first time it happened wasabout 12 days after having installed SP2 on my
| desktop, was using a previous version of FP then. This time it happened about
| 11 days after having applied SP2,now using FP2003.
|
| On my Laptop, it also happened within the 2 weeks of applying SP2.
|
| The first time I got the problem on my Desktop, I could access NOTHING on
| the Internett, no web-browsing, no e-mail. Also tried to turn off ALL
| firewalls with the same negative result. I will shortly reinstall XP and not
| apply SP2 unless I can find a cause of the problem with the current
| installation.
|
| When this happened last Friday, I had logged into the site and then suddenly
| when going to edit one of the pages, I got the error message. It was just ike
| turning a switch.
