Cannot Import .CSV Files - Option Not Available in Drop Down Box

J

I do not have the option to import .csv files into Microsoft Access. I was
having this same problem w/ .xls, but found the answer on how to fix that on
the forum (the fix worked). I now need to know how to enable the .csv files
(as soon as possible).

Thank you.

Jerry,

Microsoft 2003. I am not sure where to find service pack. I looked at help
and about and there was no help when the option just isn't there.

Gina,

Would the following be the service pack: Microsoft 2003 11.5614.6568? If so,
now what do I need to do in order to fix this?

Thank you.

I have a disk my uncle gave me with the programs. I was having issues with my
laptop late last year and had to take my laptop to be fixed. When the issues
I was having were fixed this problem appeared. I was guessing it would be
another easy fix like the .xls files. I fixed that.

Please help.

JEO,

I was going to suggest reloading Access using Custom or Advanced (I forget
what the choices are) to insure you have installed the Advanced Filters.
However, using disks your Uncle gave you... well that is up to you becuase
you should have your own license.

And now that I think about it... in the drop down box, do you have the
option to import .txt files?

The program says my name when you look to find the service pack. I don't know
much about computers though so someone else installed the software. Do I need
to get different software?

I do not have the option to import .txt files. The only options I have are
Excel (which I just fixed in order to have that option), Access, Sharepoint,
and XML.

I do not know how, but I do know how to follow directions...so if you tell me
how I will do it.

JEO,

I would suggest you get the person who loaded Access to reload with the
Advanced part checked, so they can confirm the features added (if you can).
(I don't remember ALL the steps and ALL the coices to give complete
directions.) If you want to do it yourself, the below MIGHT help...

1. Insert CD
2. Select Add/Remove Features...
3. Select Advanced and check all the boxes
4. All done now see what is in the Drop Down in Access.

So there is no easy fix like the one fix fix it so I could import .xls?

The person who loaded it orinally can't help. The person who loaded it next
was the Geek Squad at Best Buy...

JEO,

If there is an easy fix I have not been able to find it. And it occurs to
me that perhaps all the filters where not loaded, at least, at this point it
is the only thing coming to mind. Note, Best Buy will want the original CD,
they will not load a copy.

How do I load the filters? Best Buy did load the CD 2/09. That is all I have
and I gave it to them.

It is under Advanced Options... Like I said haven't loaded a CD in a while
and don't remember exactly where that is why I suggested someone with
experience do it.

A thought here... are you sure you don't actually have Access Runtime, as
opposed to the full edition?
