cannot install Office 97

Have new(rebuilt) Dell Optiplex. Cannot load the Office 97
suite into the new machine. When I get to the screen that
asks for the CD key number, I type it into the box and the
message that I get is "invalid ID number" I bought this
product several years ago. It is "office 97 for windows NT
and 95" I am running Windows 98SE. is this the problem,
i.e. different operating systems? Got a "universal" key
from my computer geek (1114-1111111) This did not work
either. Any help appreciated. thanks, Frank
