Cannot install Windows Live Mail

Hi

i have had a hotmail account for years but today microsoft send me a message
saying that i can't use it in Outlook Express after June 30. i am told to use
this link to download Windows Live Mail as a replacement

http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview.

when i try to download Windows Live Mail it just says "Sorry, we couldn't
install these programs"
Mail : Not Installed : Canceled
Sign-in Assistant : Not Installed : Canceled
Please try again later.

There is no reason given as to why it didn't install so that's unhelpful for
starters. And it tells me to try again later by putting an icon on my
desktop. What is the use of trying again later - do installations have more
chance of succeeding at different times of the day?

Anyway, could someone help me here as to what's going wrong. Surely i'm not
the only one with this problem? I'm using XP Professional SP2.

Thank you.

I think you are confused. this group is for the support of OUTLOOK (as in
the title), part of the Office suite. Windows Live Mail has NOTHING to do
with OUTLOOK.
Repost in microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop for proper
assistance...

i'm not confused, i couldn't see any Windows Live Mail forums so i came here
as it was indirectly due to outlook express.

thank you for your link though, i'll give it a go.

You are confused. MS Outlook is completely unrelated to MS Outlook Express,
which is an entirely different application. Welcome to the MSFT "Looking
Glass"...
