Cannot launch web link from within outlook message

Sometimes when I try to click on a web link from a received message in
Outlook 2003, the web page opens and then immediately closes, denying me the
ability to open the page from the link provided. Why does this happen? How
can I make the page stay open when launched? Is it a cookie thing? An
internet setting? I am using default security settings (Windows XP, Internet
Explorer). It's frustrating to not be able to use a link from an email, even
when it is from a known source, such as a subscription newsletter or
notification.

HI,
have you tried to reset your web settings?
Internet Explorer > Tools > Internetoptions > Programm > reset web settings?

Thank you for your response. I figured out what was causing the problem,
after much frustration. I figured it might be some kind of spyware blocking
application - I use several.

I discovered the problem was with Ad-Aware - there are a number of
different kinds actions that Ad-Aware can block, depending on which options
the user selects. It turns out that by selecting the option to block
pop-ups, that it blocks the ability of many (not all) links that launch a
browser page from within email messages. I unselected that particular option
and - voila - everything works just fine.
